Soul Mckenzie: Studio Manager/Engineer.
Before moving back to the States, he interviewed for a position as maintenance engineer at Tony Visconti's studios but he could not stay due to a family crisis. Soul currently holds a F.F.C. license for radio broadcasting which led him to 1170 A.M. and 88.9 WDNA F.M. He has worked in the studio with Salt n Peppa, Lloyd Price, Steel Pulse, Billy Ocean's producer Wayne Breathwaite, Russel Simmons, Movie sound track Wild Thing staring Kathleen Quinlan, James Stevenson of the Billy Idol band, Mtume, Judy Womott of the I Threes, Shelly Thunder, Smiley And Michigan, Father Mc, ChinAfrica, Monyaka, Adjah, Papa San, Anthony Evans from the movie Fame, Shirley Ceasar, Noel, Barrington Levy, Super Cat, Willey Lindo, Augustus Paplo, John Holt, Tinger Stewart, Wayne Wonder, Patrick Adams, INXS, Heavy D and the Boys, Stevie B, Keith Sweat, KRSONE, the C.E.O of Atlantic Records, Craig Kallman and many others in the industry. Soul also helped to transfer some of the Beatles Master tapes from analog to digital and helped the Japanese create sound tracks for the original karaoke jukeboxes in N.Y.C. Some of the studios he has worked in are Electric Lady, Power Play, HC&F, The Ranch, Monkey Hill, Intergalactic, Studio Center, and Calliope. He also appeared in Mix Magazine for his audio skills. |
